How to Play Blackjack Switch
Blackjack switch is a variation on traditional blackjack. The player still needs to beat the dealer and a blackjack is still the winning number. If the player goes over twenty one, they bust out and the dealer will take their money as the house will win.
One difference to switch blackjack is that the player will receive two hands face up instead of one. The player must also wager on both hands before the hands are dealt. Once both hands have been dealt to all players, the dealer still receives one hand, and then more of the action continues.
When playing traditional blackjack, the hand must be wagered on as it sits. When playing blackjack switch, the player can actually make some changes to their hand. They can take their top two cards and switch them. For instance, if the player has a ten and two for the bottom cards with an ace on the two and a nine on the ten, the player can switch the top two cards to make better hands.
By switching the ace with the nine, one hand has become a blackjack. The other hand will have a value of eleven which gives the player a good chance at hitting twenty one. The next decision to be made is whether to double down on that hand.
Some casinos also offer a variation where a side or prop bet can be made on the strength of the four cards dealt. The player will wager that two pair, three of a kind four of a kind or a flush will be dealt to them. This wager will be paid whether or not the blackjack hand or hands win.
